Rebecca Mitchell

Executive Director
California Leadership

Rebecca was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. She was 5 years old when her father left her life because of a heroin addiction. Despite growing up in church and knowing of God, she still felt alone and abandoned. By the time she was 14, she was following in the same dark and destructive footsteps of her father that led her to drinking alcohol, smoking marijuana and shortly thereafter cocaine and hallucinogens.

By the age of 21 her heroin addiction robbed her of her apartment, job and ability to remain in nursing school.  She began a cycle of going to rehab and jail ultimately leaving her broken, hurting and completely lost.  Her breaking point came when she was high and driving 80 mph on the highway at 3 am and crashed her car into a brick median and a tree totaling the car.  She did not have a seatbelt on, but by the grace of God, Rebecca walked away without a scratch on her.

Shortly after the accident, she walked through the door of the Hoving Home desperate and devastated.  At the home she was introduced to personal relationship with Jesus Christ and it was through that her life was radically transformed and restored.  Today she considers it an honor and a privilege to be the Executive Director of the Hoving Home in Pasadena, CA. It gives her great joy to be serving at the very place that where her life was changed.  Rebecca aspires daily to encourage the women to fulfill the destiny, purpose and calling that God has on their lives.
