Business Office Manager / Donor Relations
My name is Ashley Putnam. I’m 22 years old from Glennville, GA. I was born to two deaf parents who divorced when I was born. I moved to FL with my father and stepmother and went through three years of mental and physical abuse. My father divorced my stepmother and I moved back to GA to live with my grandmother. One day my father told me he would be back later but he never came back. I decided I was never letting anyone close to me again. I received Christ in my heart when I was thirteen but when I got into high school my relationship with the Lord started fading. I did drugs recreationally but after a really bad breakup I dove head first into my drug addiction. So far everyone in my life had rejected me or hurt me, but not the pills. I got worse in my addiction until finally I couldn’t take it anymore. I cried out to God, and then called my Pastor.
He found me a safe house and once there, I heard about the Walter Hoving Home. I felt led to come here so I prayed and realized that God wanted me to take a leap of faith and trust Him. So here I am giving him every area of my life that needs to be worked on and trying to serve him with my whole heart. Right now my future plans are in Gods hand. For once in my life I really just want to do what he wants me to do. Whatever that entails, I know it will be worth it all!
Psalms 73:26 “my health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever.”
