Facility Director/Fundraising Coordinator
After moving from Mississippi to California I started drinking alcohol and using drugs at the age of 13. The move was a culture shock and peer pressure was overwhelming. That is when I began my downhill spiral into darkness and despair. After several failed attempts to stay sober, I decided the only way out and the only way to stop hurting my family was to disappear somewhere and die. That somewhere was Las Vegas. After 10 years on the streets of Vegas numbing myself and drowning in shame, I cried out to God for help. God answered my cry by sending me to jail, where I expressed to someone there that I needed to find God. She gave me the phone number to the Walter Hoving Home. I entered the Home in 2009, and that is when hope began.
The Home introduced me to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. My sweet Jesus took my heart into His loving hands and began to transform my life through the Holy Spirit. God used the curriculum of the Home to show me my true identity in Christ. I am being renewed every day. I am so grateful that all my past circumstances were permitted by the Lord to make me see my need for Him.
God answered my prayers to serve. In February 2012, the Lord brought me back to the Walter Hoving Home Las Vegas to serve Him as Facility Director/Fundraising Coordinator. I assist the director in all areas that are needed, concentrating in the area of housing, food and facilities services, including fundraising. It is a great joy to share the hope of Christ with these ladies.
God will create a new thing in this land: A transformed woman will embrace the transforming God! Jeremiah 31:22MSG
