Sylvia Marchael

Executive Director

Sylvia was born in Long Beach California. She was raised with 1 sister and 3 brothers. She is the mother of 2 wonderful sons and the grandmother of 2 precious grandsons. Sylvia began her walk with the Lord in July of 2006. In February of 2010, she moved to Las Vegas to join the staff at the Walter Hoving Home. She is now currently the Vice President/Director of the Home in Las Vegas. Being a product of the Home herself has given Sylvia the desire and the compassion to mentor and reach out to other women who are going through similar trials that Sylvia faced in her past. Sylvia believes that she was truly called by God to serve here in Las Vegas and to give back by helping these broken women that come through the doors of the Walter Hoving Home.

God has redeemed her and has delivered her from a horrible past of a 23 year drug addiction and the violence that goes along with it.

Here in Las Vegas, the Walter Hoving Home has a 10 bed facility. The Home focuses on women 18 years and older, who have life controlling addictions to drugs, alcohol and/or prostitution.

The Home is a faith-based discipleship program where the women are able to get to the root issues of what led them down a destructive path. Here, they are able to find freedom and a new way of living.

Sylvia knows all too well how the strongholds of the enemy can overpower and consume, but she has freedom now and gives all the glory to her Lord and Savior.

Ephesians 4:11-12  “So Christ Himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip His people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up”.
