Completion in New York

BrookeBrooke came to the Walter Hoving Home at the age of 36. She is a mother of two beautiful children. As a young child, her mother left the family and she suffered from issues of abandonment. By the time she was 22, she was a mom of two children and was also raising her younger brother. She began her journey with addiciton when she was 25 years old and in the following 11 years, that lifestyle would rob her of her family and her own self. In 2009, she found her brother dead from a drug overdose and everything changed. She lost her daughter soon after because whe was in so much pain and so deep in addiction she couldn’t take care of her. Her life spiralled out of control . . . but GOD began pursuing her and eventually she found the Walter Hoving Home.

At the Home, she finally felt like she had a chance to live again. She has worked hard to gain freedom and sought the Lord for the situations in her life. She found a way to forgive her mother for leaving and has been able to come to a place of accepting Christ’s forgiveness for her sins. She is excited about her future and all that God has in store for her and her family.

Brooke completed the program this week and has moved on to a reentry home. It is amazing to see what God can do in restoring a shattered life.

I Corinthians 13:7 – “Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”

Please leave a comment to encourage Brooke in her new life! Congratulations, Brooke – we are proud of you!

I just read your story and it reminds me so much of my daughter. She is currently serving time in county jail and has to appear in front of the judge Feb. 2nd and 9th. I am hoping that now that she has been clean for a little over a week and a good lawyer she realizes that she can do so much better and is able to enter the Walter Hoving home which is the best place for her I believe. As I was cleaning her room yesterday and getting rid of all bad memories I found different recovery quotes, letters of her wanted to get better but obviously not having enough strength to do it.
I believe that God had to get her away from the street and in jail to save her life and that this new beginning well get her strong and she will be able to accomplished what the Lord has in store for her.
I ask that prayers go out to my daughter Harley and that she is able to make it to Walter Hoving hones’ doorstep.

Brook, Thank you for your strength and honesty. I will pray for a lifetime of sobriety and strength for you with Jesus by your side. I have struggled with addictions my entire life and I have a daughter who struggles with addictions also. I have a strong faith in Jesus and I know that if I turned my life “Entirely” over to him, He would be there for me. God brought me to this page to read your story for a reason I’m sure. I will show your story to my daughter to see if she too, might realize she needs help. She has a son and is afraid to leave him while she gets care. It can be done and you are proof. Thank you Brook. Stay strong. Jesus love us.
