Brooke came to the Walter Hoving Home at the age of 36. She is a mother of two beautiful children. As a young child, her mother left the family and she suffered from issues of abandonment. By the time she was 22, she was a mom of two children and was also raising her younger brother. She began her journey with addiciton when she was 25 years old and in the following 11 years, that lifestyle would rob her of her family and her own self. In 2009, she found her brother dead from a drug overdose and everything changed. She lost her daughter soon after because whe was in so much pain and so deep in addiction she couldn’t take care of her. Her life spiralled out of control . . . but GOD began pursuing her and eventually she found the Walter Hoving Home.
At the Home, she finally felt like she had a chance to live again. She has worked hard to gain freedom and sought the Lord for the situations in her life. She found a way to forgive her mother for leaving and has been able to come to a place of accepting Christ’s forgiveness for her sins. She is excited about her future and all that God has in store for her and her family.
Brooke completed the program this week and has moved on to a reentry home. It is amazing to see what God can do in restoring a shattered life.
I Corinthians 13:7 – “Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”
