Jessica Completes the Program

Jessica (l) and Beth

It was a great honor to present Jessica with her well deserved completion certificate today. It has not been an easy road for her but she has made it! And we believe will continue to allow God to guide her future.

Jessica was born to two heroin addicted parents – both eventually died from overdoses – and she stated this morning “I didn’t have the best start”. She grew up in numerous apartments, foster homes, shelters and even at times on the streets. When she was 11, her mom took her to a park that was known for being a place where drug addicts resided and she said, “I can’t take care of you anymore. Go find your dad.” So Jessica did and she just continued in the same lifestyle because her dad was also bound by his addiction. Eventually, Jessica became a heroin addict but God intervened in her life and gave her opportunity to have a different life. As she completes the program today, she is delivered from addiction and excited about the hope of her future. She wants a different life for her three children and now she can be a godly mom by showing them the love of Christ.

Jessica is an example of what the Walter Hoving Home can do to help a woman bound by addiction – she is set free today!

I hope this scripture she shared with us this morning as she was completing will bring you encouragement today: Deuteronomy 30:15-16 “See I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. For I command you today to love your God, to walk in obedience to Him, and to keep His commands, decrees, and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.”

Please pray for Jessica as she returns home today. You will be missed here, Jessica but we love you and will be praying for you!
